The FamilySAFE Original:
The FamilySAFE Original models are the strongest saferooms in the industry.
Full 1/4" plate steel Broken at a large 2" radius in the corners for strength and safety. The unit has 3/8" thick 2"x2"
square tubing for the safety cage running throughout the unit. According to the engineers, this unit is capable of supporting
over 100,000 lbs. stacked on top of it (about 25 midsize cars). This door uses Sargent commercial grade class one
stainless steel deadbolts to hold it secure for the storm but also acts like a vault or storage cabinet for valuables or firearms.
This unit is bullet resistant to all normal handguns and shotguns and features a stainless steel sight glass for viewing the
storm or intruders. Sizes available: 4'x6' 4'x8' 6'x6' 6'x8' 8'x8' 8'x10'

The FamilySAFE Basic:
The FamilySAFE Basic is an F5 rated unit. It still has the famous 1/4" plate steel door with the
same safety features as the original unit except that it uses 3/4" cold rolled pins to lock the door instead of the dead bolts.
This unit also has square corners instead of the large radius corners of the original unit. The inside of the unit still
uses the 2"x2" square tubing but is one gauge lighter than the original. The skin is 3/16" but is still impossible to
penetrate by anything a tornado can throw at it. We feel this is the best unit made today for the price. Sizes
available: 4'x6' 4'x8' 6'x6'
Testing at Texas Tech University
The FamilySAFE was the first complete prefabricated steel, above ground saferoom to pass all testing performed at Texas
Tech University.
The result of a 15 pound 2x4 striking the door at speeds of an F5 tornado was a mere 1/4" dent. FamilySAFE is the
only company to have a person inside the unit while this test was performed.

Convenience:
We will set the unit the same day the framers "pop" the chalk lines and the unit may be framed in the same day.
With the Hilti anchorage system there is no need for pre-set bolts or templates. You won't have to lift a finger except
to point where it goes.
